The much-awaited CICS Sports Meet was held with great enthusiasm and excitement at St. Joseph’s Convent Sr. Sec. School, Hoshiarpur on 18th October 2025 . The event aimed to promote the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness among students.

The day began with the band leading the  march past  by the contingents of various participating schools under the Carmelite Institutions .

 The Chief Guest, Dr Manpreet Shinhmar, S P Hoshiarpur and 

Guest of honour Mr .Jaspal Singh Chechi Chairman Mandi Board  were given a warm welcome by Rev .Sr . Sophie,the Manger,  Rev. Sr. Sudha, the Principal of the school, along with the staff and students. The programme commenced with a prayer song, followed by the lighting of the torch and the declaration of the Sports Meet open. Rev Sr.Geo Maria ,the educational  coordinator was also present to grace the occasion.

A spectacular march past and flag hoisting ceremony set the tone for the day. The school playground was filled with vibrant energy as athletes from different schools competed in various track and field events such as 100m, 200m, and relay races, long jump, shot put, and high jump. The participants displayed remarkable discipline, determination, and sporting spirit throughout the events.

The CICS Badminton Competitions   were held  with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship in the  indoor sports arena of Achievers Academy. The event aimed to encourage students to develop their athletic skills, discipline, and competitive spirit.

The matches were organized in different categories — Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys, and Senior Girls — ensuring active participation from all age groups.

Players exhibited excellent skill, agility, and focus throughout the tournament. The courts echoed with cheers as each match displayed thrilling rallies and strong performances. 

The audience cheered enthusiastically as the students showcased their talent in various athletic events  adding color and rhythm to the occasion. Teachers and  students alike enjoyed the spirit of friendly competition and togetherness.

The Chief Guest, in his inspiring address, appreciated the efforts of the organizing school and congratulated all the participants for their zeal and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of sports in shaping character and fostering a healthy body and mind.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were awarded medals and certificates. Rev. Sr. Sudha, the Principal, proposed the vote of thanks, appreciating the hard work of teachers, students, and support staff who made the event a grand success. The meet ended with the National Anthem, filling everyone’s hearts with pride and joy.

The CICS Sports Meet 2025 was truly a celebration of energy, enthusiasm, and excellence — a day that was  cherished by everyone present.
